All Americans have a clear visual of the horrific events of September 11, 2001….the planes flying into the Twin Towers in New York City….people running OUT of buildings in a panic just trying to survive….Firefighters and Police Officers running INTO the towers with a sense of duty because this is what they do. 350 Firefighters and 60 Police personnel lost their lives that tragic day. Thousands were injured, many very seriously.
The events of September 11, 2001 and various local incidents, even though on a much smaller scale, call our attention to the importance of our First Responders. These brave men and women put their lives on the line for us 24/7/365….THEY NEVER CLOSE. After each publicized event, we are grateful for what our First Responders do for us. Then, as time passes and memories fade, we get back to our busy lives and TEND TO TAKE FIREFIGHTERS AND POLICE OFFICERS FOR GRANTED.
The mission of the Firefighter & Police Appreciation Foundation is as follows:
A 501(c)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization has been established with the Internal Revenue Service so all donations to the Firefighters and Police Appreciation Foundation are fully tax deductible.
